Description


Please see the page of Common Redshank (Tringa totanus). The characters of the race: Prevails morph of brownish-ochre colour. Upper parts brownish-ochre, shaft dark spots larger, terminal black streaks and barred scapulars and tertials wider. Spots and strips on under parts smaller and not numerous.

Distribution


Breeds in Eastern Kazakhstan, west up to Emba valley, where occurs on migration too. Episodically nests in mountains on Markakol’ lake.
